Shops and retailers with live chat
Need to chase an order, sort out a return or ask about a refund? Here’s which UK shops and retailers let you do it by live chat, when chat is open, and whether you’ll talk to a person or a bot. Every entry is checked by hand on the retailer’s own website, and if we can’t see it, we say so.

“Not yet confirmed” means the official site doesn’t show live chat without logging in, or we couldn’t see it. We never guess. Spotted a change? Tell us
Best for
Getting help from a retailer by live chat
- Have your order number ready. Most retailers ask for it before they can help.
- Ask for a person. If a chatbot answers, type “speak to an adviser” or “talk to a person”. Our pages say which retailers start with a bot.
- Save the transcript. Download or screenshot the chat before closing it, in case you need to complain.
- Know your rights. For faulty goods, you usually have 30 days to reject them for a full refund. For most online orders, you can cancel within 14 days of delivery.
- Check the returns page first. Many returns can be started online without chatting at all.
How we check
We visit each company’s official help or contact page and record only what it shows: whether live chat exists, the hours, and where the button is. Anything we can’t see is marked “not yet confirmed”. We re-check every company in this guide each month.
Questions people ask
Which shops and retailers have live chat?
See the table above. It shows every retailer we’ve checked, whether live chat is confirmed, and when it’s open.
Can I return something through live chat?
Sometimes. Many retailers will answer questions about a return by chat, but most ask you to start the return through their online returns page or in a store. Have your order number ready.
What are my rights if something I bought is faulty?
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, you have 30 days to reject faulty goods for a full refund. After that, the retailer usually gets one chance to repair or replace the item. For most online orders, you can also cancel within 14 days of delivery, even if nothing is wrong.
What if the retailer won't sort it out?
Some retailers belong to a free dispute scheme, which we name on their page. If not, Citizens Advice’s consumer helpline (0808 223 1133) can explain your rights and what to do next.
