Broadband and mobile providers with live chat
Stuck on hold about a slow connection, a bill or a contract? Here’s which UK broadband and mobile providers let you sort it out by live chat, when chat is open, and whether you’ll need to log in first. Every entry is checked by hand on the provider’s official site, and if we can’t see it, we say so.

“Not yet confirmed” means the official site doesn’t show live chat without logging in, or we couldn’t see it. We never guess. Spotted a change? Tell us
Best for
Getting a person on broadband and mobile live chat
- Use the app. Many mobile networks put chat inside their app rather than on the website, so check there first.
- Log in before you start. Most providers need to check your account before they can discuss it, and logging in first usually skips the security questions.
- Ask for a person. If a chatbot answers, type “speak to an agent” or “talk to a person”. Our pages say which providers start with a bot.
- Save the transcript. Download or screenshot the chat before closing it. You’ll need it if you complain.
- Know your compensation rights. If your provider is in Ofcom’s automatic compensation scheme, you’re owed money for slow repairs, missed engineer visits and delayed installs, without having to ask.
How we check
We visit each company’s official help or contact page and record only what it shows: whether live chat exists, the hours, and where the button is. Anything we can’t see is marked “not yet confirmed”. We re-check every company in this guide each month.
Questions people ask
Which broadband and mobile providers have live chat?
See the table above. It shows every provider we’ve checked, whether live chat is confirmed, and when it’s open.
Can I complain to my broadband provider by live chat?
Usually, yes. Ask the adviser to log it as a formal complaint and save the chat transcript. If it isn’t sorted within 6 weeks, or you get a deadlock letter, you can take it to your provider’s free dispute scheme: the Communications Ombudsman or CISAS.
Am I owed compensation if my broadband goes down?
If your provider is in Ofcom’s automatic compensation scheme, you get £10.34 a day if a repair is late after you lose service, £32.31 if an engineer misses an appointment, and £6.46 a day if a new service starts late (rates from 1 April 2026). Most large providers are in the scheme. Check your provider’s site.
